Celebrating Green Tulip's 15th Birthday
This summer Green Tulip turned 15. To celebrate the big day, the whole Green Tulip team headed over to our neighbours The Farm Cookery School for The Great Green Tulip Bake Off 2022.
The Great Green Tulip Bake Off 2022 tackled chocolate, with a showstopper challenge featuring chocolate selected from vast array of ethically made chocolate stocked we stock.
Amazingly as it was the hottest day of the year and a key ingredient was chocolate, there were no meltdowns; All the bakes were different, but they were all delicious.
And the winner?
A stunning raspberry and white chocolate cake made with Tony Chocolonely's Raspberry & Popping Candy White Chocolate Bar, by Deborah McCaughan, our longest serving team member here at Green Tulip.
The Bake Off is just one part of the year-long activity we're working on to mark our 15th year in business. Earlier this year, we won the Wiltshire Life Green Business of the Year 2022, launched our new website in the spring, and next month will launch a new eco-friendly gift-wrapping service.
"We've come a long way since I started Green Tulip back in 2007, having sent out well over 30,000 gifts over the years. We now stock on our website over 120 ethical brands and 1,000 products, but our commitment to only choosing products that are kinder to people and the environment remains as strong as ever." says founder Charity Nichols
In the 15 years since starting Green Tulip, Charity has also founded sister companies Everyday Green, a one stop shop for eco-friendly daily essentials, and The Natural Gift Company, a range of ready made gift sets, which are hugely popular for corporate gifts and also available to buy on Green Tulip.
Today, Green Tulip and its sisters have grown to be a thriving business, employing a team nine staff (and a Portuguese Pointer!). You can also find Green Tulip's gifts at established retailer The Inner Yard, which is situated just outside of Devizes. Charity shares the shop with her friend Beth Cuttell, a local antique dealer, and the space is an ever-changing mix of interiors, antiques, clothing and ethical gifts.
