FAQs about Floss & Interdentals
Dental floss is typically made from synthetic waxed nylon or Teflon. The mixed materials used in traditional floss make recycling too difficult–some research suggests it can take 80 years to break down in a landfill. Plastic dental floss picks and interdental brushes are also made of mixed materials that are too small to recycle.
We are searching for a plastic free floss that is also vegan friendly!
It depends on how it is looking. If the bristles start to look worn or shabby, or if the wire starts to fatigue (bend or twist), we recommend you throw it out and replace it with a new one. Our interdental brushes are durable and should last for many uses. Remember to rinse after use.
The handle is organic bamboo and can be recycled as wood. Simply pull out the wire with the bristles - pliers will do the trick. This is mixed materials and should be disposed in household waste.
