The idea for Derby-based brand ManCave came when father and son duo Mark and Alex Grogan foresaw a massive opportunity in the booming men’s grooming market for ethical, all-natural products. From their initial idea for the business, Mark and Alex embarked on a two-year process building the brand's identity, and looking at the formulas they wanted to develop, and how they could be different from other brands.

CAREFUL PLANNING

With Alex working three other jobs – a digital agency, estate agent and at a bar, the duo were a while crafting sustainable formulations for their product range. It wasn’t just about the performance of the products – they also looked at the ingredients going into them, and the ethics of the suppliers themselves.

Finally in November 2012, Alex launched five classic products made from naturally derived ingredients, and ManCave was born.

RECYCLED PLASTIC PACKAGING

Today the company, which has grown to a small team, is flourishing with global year-on-year sales growth. The introduction of recycled and recyclable plastic bottles and tubes has also had a positive impact, continuing with the brand's ongoing ethos of protecting our environment from pollution as well protecting ourselves.

Even Frank, ManCave's very own hairy supermodel is happy to get involved and be part of the team - he gets paid in tasty dog treats! Woof!
