Round Soapstone Incense Holder - Blue Sun Mask
This vibrant hand crafted soapstone dish has a small centre hole making it ideal for burning incense sticks. Made with natural soapstone, it's hand painted and waxed making it wonderfully tactile. Simply secure an incense stick using the centre hole and leave the ash to collect neatly within the round holder. Not suitable for vegans. 10.5cm dia.

Hand carved and hand painted in Kisii, a small town in the South West of Kenya by a self help group of young men and women. The aim of the group is to keep poverty at bay for the entire community "by ensuring there is food, shelter, clothes, clean water to drink, medical facilities and better education for our children". They also work towards stopping child marriage by giving young women and girls the opportunity to earn a wage so they can support themselves.
The group started up in 1996 and now has 40 members. The young men and women craft soapstone products, with mostly the male members being responsible for collecting the stone from the quarry and carving it using large knives. The female members take on the role of washing and sanding the products as well as being part of the design process. The finished pieces are then polished with a natural beeswax to create a long-lasting shine.
Soapstone often features a streaking effect similar to that of marble, which is totally natural and a part of the material's character and charm.

A faster service, usually delivered the next working day.
3: DHL EXPRESS - £8.50
Delivery by DHL courier using their express service which usually delivers next day (Monday-Friday only). Order by 11am weekdays for same day dispatch.
