Natural Incense Sticks - Pack of 10

Handmade in Kolkata by Silence, a non-profit organisation that provides reliable income for physically challenged artisan employees. Many of the artisans are deaf, voiceless, blind, handicapped, or mentally ill. The focus of the charity is to offer opportunities to those in need, and there is no discrimination or child labour. Silence is a Guaranteed Member of the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO).

Comes in four traditional Indian scents:-

Parijat - a mystical healing flower known as Night Jasmine
Lavender - to soothe and calm a busy mind
Rose - to relieve anxiety, improve sleep and cleanse negative energies
Frankincense - to aid meditation and mindfulness through its breath-enhancing properties

This incense is made from bamboo sticks, wood powder, Jiggit gum (a natural adhesive made from the bark of trees) and essential oils. The wood powder is made into a paste with the Jiggit and applied to the bamboo sticks. After drying, the sticks are dipped into the essential oil. Finally the perfumed sticks are dried and packed.

An incense holder is also available which is beautifully hand crafted from natural soap stone.

To use: light the tip of the incense stick until it flames. Once the tip is glowing, gently blow out the flame, allowing the stick to smoulder. Fix stick onto an appropriate incense holder. Burn time approximately 40-45 minutes per stick.
