Why we love it
Made responsibly in India from used cement sacks. The sacks are cleaned, shredded, melted down and then made into fine fibres. The fibres are dyed (with azo free dyes) then woven into fabric. The fabric maker then supplies the recycled HDPE fabric to the producer in India where it is cut, stitched and finished.
The producer has been in this line of business since 1991 and its factory has a Sedex Ethical Trade Audit (4 Pillar) and ISO certified. It is also a registered member of GoodWeave.org and Fair Trade Forum India.
Please be aware that due to the nature of the recycling process there may be minor variations in colour and occasional imperfections in the weave - all part of the product's unique charm. The brighter colours may fade over time if exposed to bright sunlight.
