Bamboo Single Straw

Bamboo absorbs little moisture so resists swelling and warping, making it a superior, long-lasting material for everyday use. It's heat and stain resistant and is lightweight so ideal for taking out and about.

All products come without packaging with the exception of the set of six straws which comes in a recyclable card sleeve.

Please note: Because the straws are made from natural bamboo, each one will need washing before first use. If there is any pith on the inside of a straw, it can be brushed out and then washed. Pith is totally natural and edible so should not cause concern. Due to these straws being natural bamboo cane, the size can vary in width from 7mm diameter to 13mm diameter. Food safe tested and approved.

The bamboo used to make these straws is Chinese Fountain bamboo which grows in Fujian so does not affect pandas as they live in the North, in the Chengdu region.

Responsibly produced in the Fuijan Province of China where there are safe working conditions and fair labour practices. Producer Bambu is also B Corp certified which means the company’s business model and entire operations are evaluated to see how they impact their workers, community and environment. In short, B Corporation is to business what Fairtrade certification is to food.

Miracle plant bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world, and is an endlessly renewable resource - growing new shoots from its root system after being harvested. It thrives naturally without using any pesticides or fertilisers, takes in greenhouse gasses and produces 35% more oxygen than the equivalent trees. Bambu only uses Moso bamboo for its products, an extremely large variety not eaten by pandas because of its size. The Brand sustainably harvests its plantations every 3-5 years.
