Each utensil is cut from a single piece of certified organic bamboo and is free from glues, lacquers, or chemicals of any kind, making them naturally food safe.
Why we love it
- Made with panda friendly organic bamboo from sustainably managed plantations
- Hand shaped and finished with food safe natural oils
- Produced by a B-Corp certified company recognised for its environmental commitments
Bamboo absorbs little moisture so resists swelling and warping, making it a superior, long-lasting material for everyday use in the kitchen. It's heat and stain resistant and is ideal for non-stick cookware.
Spoontula - a long spoon with the added feature of a handy flat edge like a spatula; perfect for reaching areas at the bottom of the pan often left behind with a regular spoon. 33cm.
Produced from a single piece of organically grown bamboo, then hand shaped, sanded and finished with a food-safe oil produced from vegetable oils and waxes. Food safe tested and approved. The patented spoon rest in the handle of the 'Give It A Rest' series is part of the natural characteristic of how bamboo grows.
Can be washed in the dishwasher however, as with wooden products, hand washing is recommended to prolong life. Avoid soaking. Not recommended for microwave. If necessary the natural lustre can be rejuvenated with an all natural oil or wax. Biodegradable and compostable at the end of its long life.
Responsibly made in the Fuijan Province of China where there are safe working conditions and fair labour practices. Producer Bambu is also B Corp certified which means the company’s business model and entire operations are evaluated to see how they impact their workers, community and environment. In short, B Corporation is to business what Fairtrade certification is to food.
Miracle plant bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world, and is an endlessly renewable resource - growing new shoots from its root system after being harvested. It thrives naturally without using any pesticides or fertilisers, takes in greenhouse gasses and produces 35% more oxygen than the equivalent trees. Bambu only uses Moso bamboo for its products, an extremely large variety not eaten by pandas because of its size. The Brand sustainably harvests its plantations every 3-5 years.
Materials: Organically grown bamboo. Finished with a food-safe oil produced from vegetable oils and waxes.
