This pack of two organic cotton cleaning pads is a great eco friendly alternative to disposable dish sponges and scouring pads that add to the world's plastic pollution problem. Each pad has a smooth side made with printed organic cotton and a textured, waffled side perfect for when a more abrasive clean is needed. They're great for washing up, cleaning kitchen work surfaces and cooker hobs as well as bathroom sinks and showers. 8cm x 12cm.
Why we love it
Contains two cleaning pads measuring approximately 8cm wide x 12cm long.
Each cleaning pad has a smooth side made from mint leaf print organic cotton, and a textured side which has been overlaid with organic cotton mesh to create a waffled surface, perfect for when a more abrasive clean is needed. Padded with organic cotton towelling. For best results wring out after use and leave to dry.
Machine washable. Recycle with textile recycling at the end of its useful life.
Made from GOTS certified organic cotton stitched with polycotton thread for strength and durability. Packaged in recyclable card belly band.
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres and means the entire textile supply chain is independently certificated including both ecological and social criteria. The cotton is grown on non GM, small farms in South India where the dry climate helps the cotton to grow well. It is then woven in GOTS certified weaving units and made into useful, reusable products, encouraging a more sustainable lifestyle with less waste.
Produced responsibly by a small family run business at their own sewing unit in Tamil Nadu, India. A Slice of Green visited the unit in 2018 and were impressed by the high standards maintained there.
We offer the following delivery options. In all cases you will be provided with a tracking number. Orders received by 10am weekdays will be sent out the same day.
1: ROYAL MAIL TRACKED 48 - £3.50 (FREE for orders over £50)
This is our standard delivery option. Usually delivered within two to three working days.
2: ROYAL MAIL TRACKED 24 - £5.00 (Only £1.50 for orders over £50)
A faster service, usually delivered the next working day.
3: DHL EXPRESS - £8.50
Delivery by DHL courier using their express service which usually delivers next day (Monday-Friday only). Order by 11am weekdays for same day dispatch.
We are happy to accept orders from around the world, but only offer delivery within mainland UK (excluding Jersey & Guernsey due to required customs documentation).

this is the second time I have ordered these. Good to know I am not putting plastic down the drain and they are long lasting and effective cleaners where a sponge would have been used.
I bought these with an open mind in my quest to go plastic free. Overall I like them, the rough side is rough and they seem ok. My issue is that they can’t be squeezed out like you’d squeeze a sponge and they don’t dry out quickly because of that, I end up with brown corners which look yuk.
I don’t think I’ll order these again and continue with my quest for the perfect non plastic sponge.
Great to hear about your plastic free quest Jo-Anna! I think the name 'unsponge' can be a little misleading - they definitely aren't sponges but work for washing up/cleaning. You can pop in the washing machine to make white again too. Maybe give a Seep Sponge/Scourer a try?

I ordered a Kantha scarf and some chocolates, all absolutely beautiful and efficient delivery.
I purchased these laundry sheets as I do not now use washing powder. I also have a septic tank, which I am very conscientious about. I have looked at other sheets which require transport, but as these claim to be made in the UK I am all for cutting down the carbon footprint.
