BAMBU
Founders Jeff Delkin & Rachel Speth were born in Portland, Oregon, an area that prides itself on local, homegrown and eco-friendly values. When they relocated to China for work - a place often criticised for its manufacturing processes - they took their home values with them. They wanted to find a way of doing things differently, creating interest and excitement in sustainable materials, whilst adhering to ethical business practices.
Jeff & Rachel's goal was to reduce the use and reliance on plastic by providing people with beautiful, non-toxic products made from nature. Today they continue to focus on the same key values, working in China alongside their team and producer groups to ensure the highest quality standards using locally and thoughtfully sourced materials and practices. The primary material they work with is bamboo – an endlessly renewable resource that grows very fast without the need for pesticides or fertilisers – and they also work with other sustainable materials such as cork and organic cotton.
With Jeff's background in marketing and Rachel's product development experience, the couple launched a range of bamboo products for the kitchen in 2003. Since then they have built a brand in which sustainability goes beyond the balance between what they take from the earth and what they return to it, and in January 2018 the company officially became B Corp™ certified. B Corp, short for “Benefit Corporation“, refers to a company known to have a beneficial impact on the world, whilst being profitable.
Bambu was one of the first brands we ever sold at Green Tulip, back in 2007, and I love their products as much today as I did then! The products are so well made and practical - they genuinely will last for years - and the beautiful shapes they carve from bamboo add a stylish touch to any kitchen counter. My current favourite product is the Wok Spatula - it's a thing of beauty!

I ordered a Kantha scarf and some chocolates, all absolutely beautiful and efficient delivery.
I purchased these laundry sheets as I do not now use washing powder. I also have a septic tank, which I am very conscientious about. I have looked at other sheets which require transport, but as these claim to be made in the UK I am all for cutting down the carbon footprint.
Good range of handmade soaps available at good prices, order +ame quickly and well packaged. Thank you
I found Greentulip whilst searching online. I ordered a beautiful baby grow, some wooden Teethers & a little comfort bunny. They all arrived beautifully wrapped in tissue paper& they arrived quickly too! I would definitely recommend them for extra special baby gifts.
