This smooth dark milk chocolate bar is proudly named Femme in honour of the incredible, pioneering female cocoa farmers in Eastern Congo, one of the poorest countries on earth, and one of the harshest to be a woman. Amelonado beans give this bar its gentle yet striking flavour, reminiscent of honey on buttered toast. 70g.

An exceptional organic dark-milk chocolate made with rare Amelonado cocoa beans grown by a pioneering women’s cooperative in Eastern Congo.
Not only have they created a livelihood and future for themselves and their children, they are also actively protecting and nurturing the natural biodiversity of their homelands in Virunga National Park - Africa’s oldest nature reserve, and home to the last of the Mountain Gorillas. As well as providing a livelihood, the cooperative also gives the women access to higher education and a professional career, with some now in training to become doctors. Ocelot's partner Original Beans works directly with the cooperative, paying over fair tade price, and supporting and enabling this ground breaking project.
The milk for this chocolate is sourced from Swiss brown cows that graze in small herds in lush mountain pastures. The cane sugar is raw and unrefined.
Comes wrapped in a compostable bio film and packaged in a card sleeve produced from sustainably managed forests. The stylish artwork is designed in house and is printed using water-based inks. All packaging is produced in the UK.
Certified organic by Organic Farmers & Growers (OF & G) and Organic Agriculture Europe.

Ingredients: Organic cocoa mass, organic raw unrefined cane sugar, organic cocoa butter, organic whole milk powder. May contains almonds and hazelnuts.

We are happy to accept orders from around the world, but only offer delivery within mainland UK (excluding Jersey & Guernsey due to required customs documentation).
